Does globalization as the exchange of information and goods bring with it a global compassion or a reciprocal understanding of different cultures In this course, students examine the analytical metaphors connected to the behavior of global systems. How do concepts of system emerge historically, and how are they applied to the fields of natural and social science Specific emphasis is placed on the study of multinational corporations, private voluntary organizations, and international institutions, examining the ways they shape globalization.
