This course is designed to provide High Intermediate ESL students with the perspectives and strategies common to the American university setting. Refining listening skills, extracting content form lectures, practice with successful participation in classroom discussions, formal writing format styles, and academic usage of internet tools such as email and discussion forums will be reviewed in the context of American university requirements,while exploring related cultural similarities and differences.Prerequisite: ESL 033 or appropriate placement score and departmental approval. Class hours: 4 Lecture/week.
