This course will provide students with a historical foundation of American culture and experience essential to academic success in American college classes. Students will become familiar withmajor periods in American history along with related authors, literature, and important personalities of the period leading to a knowledge base common among American college students. Students will understand the historical background behind American holidays and as well as the culture of the American classroom environment. Prerequisite: ESL013 or appropriate placement score. Class hours: 3 Lecture/week.
