The course addresses the development and nature of today's health care systems and associated nursing issues in the United States. The content also familiarizes the student with major nursing roles: leader, consultant, teacher, manager, and client advocate. The course focuses on client needs in acute health care settings and emphasizes the interdependent relationship between the health care system and advocate.
