The basic grammar and syntax of Hebrew are taught using a combination of the inductive and deductive methods. There are selected readings from Esther, the Joseph narrative, and other literary genres. The aim of the course is to provide a reading knowledge of biblical Hebrew prose and an acquaintance with basic conversational, modern Hebrew. Meets the general studies requirement for University Skills and Requirements: two semesters of the same language required. Prerequisite: BLNG 214 or instructor's permission
