This course includes an in-depth inquiry into the anatomical and physiological process associated with the occurrence of injuries to the physically active. By recognizing the signs and symptoms of injury and interpreting results of orthopedic assessment, the student develops techniques and methods with which to accurately evaluate and determine the extent of injury sustained. Laboratory experiences are used to supplement classroom instruction. Prerequisites: AT 220, BIOL 230 or BIOL 250, acceptance to the Athletic Training Education Program or instructor's permission
