3 semester hours This course will focus on theoretical and practical issues encountered in serving older adults in recreation settings. Topics include attitudes toward aging, physical, mental, and social aspects of aging, wellness, dementia and death and dying and their relationship to and influence on the dimension of leisure in the lives of older adults. Programming, program delivery systems and innovative program design will also be addressed. (Fall) Prerequisite: Junior standing.
