Prerequisite: Completion of Foundation Studies 5 semester credit hours This course is designed to offer students intensive hands-on training in Macintosh-based production methods while reinforcing developing graphic communication skills. Students should be able to come out of this class with a sense of confidence in their basic abilities on the Mac. This course consists of instruction in the basics of Macintosh operation as well as specific use of the software programs Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and QuarkXpress. Each program will be explored in itself and as part of the larger picture of producing publications. Typography and graphic design, as they relate to print communications, will be explored as essential components in the effective use of the computer applications.
