Students learn of the rise of independent forms ofcultural expression from the diverse genres of poetry, prose, and theater. Writers studied include Rubén Darío, José Martí, Jorge Luis Borges, Alfonsina Storni, Juan Rulfo, GabriGarcía Márquez, Julio Cortázar, Carols Fuentes, and Antonio Skármeta.
