EN 360 focuses on the literature of love. As we read selected works from the early Greek poet Sappho to contemporary American poets, we will explore the various meanings love takes on in different cultures, centuries, and contexts-and we will consider the possibility that writing itself can be a way of loving. If you think that love poetry is sentimental or predicatable, this seminar will surprise you! 3 credits
