Health care is the most highly regulated industry in the U. S. While its products and services focus on health, one of life's most highly valued assets, its administration must manage resources for optimal delivery of services while maintaining financial health. What affects use of various health care services in today's communities? Why is complimentary and alternative health becoming a legitimatized option? In this course, students examine the structures, functioning, and policies that comprise the U. S. health care delivery system against the backdrop of policy development and the historical events that shaped the current, competitive environment.
