The future educator gains an understanding of student behavior in the classroom, by learning to identify root causes for behavior, manage misbehavior, and foster student responsibility for behavior. The future educator learns how to set up a classroom that encourages positive behavior, how to facilitate conflict resolution, and how to manage high-risk behavior and behaviors related to lifestyle issues such as homeless/mobile to substance abuse. Ten hours of clinical experience required. ( Prerequisites: EDU 144 and 240) (Concurrent enrollment in a methods course.)
