Topics include locations, retail store layout, security, the customer service mix, retail credit arrangements and their cost-benefit relationships. Human resource concerns include recruitment, personnel changes, retraining and layoffs; employee benefits and their impact on both morale and budgets. Students research in-depth one of the ten top international retailers for practical solutions to a profitable retail environment. Prerequisite: Retailing 213, Retailing 201, and Marketing 305; junior and seniors majors only. May not be taken same semester as Fashion Merchandising 270. 3 semester hours
