This course is, in part, designed to acquaint the participants with mathematics reference works, resource materials, periodicals, and expository writings. Each student is required to write several papers and to make periodic oral presentations. Visiting speakers conduct some of the seminars. Required of mathematics majors and normally taken in the junior or senior year. Prerequisite: "C" orbetter in Mathematics 214 or permission of instructor. 3 semester hours
