This course examines the practices of newsgathering, news making and news reporting in different countries. It also studies international news agencies, issues of freedom of the press, global information flow, new world information order, media development and barriers to media development, cultural imperialism, the relationship between Western media and world media, foreign news reporting, and media and international relations. Instructor's permission may be required for this course. 3 semester hours
