This course covers the fundamentals of networking, stressing the managerial implications in a technical decision area. Current topics include standards, protocols, layering, topologies, signaling, encoding, error control, media, modems, repeaters, hubs, and bridges. Because this is one of the most dynamic fields in the computing industry, the latest changes and developments will be brought to the course as they occur. Prerequisite: CAIS 201. 3 semester hours
