This three-credit course will provide an overview of current theory and practice in psychotherapy. This area of psychology can help inform students of the different ways to help alleviate human suffering, which is often related to social, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral factors. The overall intent of this course is to help students gain a better understanding of how to engage in the redemptive work of promoting growth and healing in the lives of others. This course fulfills the requirement for intensive writing in Psychology. (Prerequisites: PSYC 1600 and passing score on the English Proficiency Exam)
