Instruction in beginning climbing techniques, equipment selection and environmental stewardship strategies. This course covers safety procedures, movement techniques, knot-tying, belaying, and top-rope anchor systems. Prepares students for leadership roles in conducting beginning rock-climbing experiences in campus, recreational and adventure programs. Lectures will be in the format of "ground school" on site . Additionalcharge assessed for field trip.
