This course presents the structure, bonding, polar bonds and their consequences, alkanes and cycloalkanes, stereochemistry and physical properties of organic compounds. Also covered is an overview of the reactions and mechanisms of alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, organic halides, nucleophilic substitutions and eliminations. Three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week. (Prerequisite: CHEM 1520) Note: There is a lab fee for this course.
