Practical introduction to social science research methods including survey research, content analysis, participant observation, and field research. Builds critical thinking skills for comparing and evaluating popular and academic reports/claims, focusing on social problems and social justice. Research design, data analysis of both qualitative and quantitative data, library research, and writing skills are taught through hands-on experiences. NOTE: This is a writing intensive course.
