Surveys the impact of state and federal employment laws on the organization. Examines both the history of and resistance to focus--not legal focus per se. Thus, as we chronicle the laws that were passed, and the resistance to the legislation. Explores what was happening in the community that made the laws necessary, what values are reflected in the law, and whether the law is adequate to balance the needs of the employer and employee.
