Study of the emergence of modern culture through an interdisciplinary course taught by six faculty members. Discussion of the classical and Christian origins of the Renaissance and of the new science and philosophy which set the groundwork for the modern outlook. Disciplines represented are art, history, literature, music, politics and religion. Students may receive separate grades for each block of this course, but must be enrolled in all the blocks in order to receive credit. Prerequisite: FYE Course. Must take both blocks for credit. (Meets the Critical Perspectives: The West in Time requirement.) 1 unit - Evitt, Grace, Hilt, Tucker.
