The theoretical and pedagogical background necessary to meet the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (I.D.E.A.) and its amendments. It includes instruction in the psychology of children with exceptionalities with emphasis on students with learning disabilities. It emphasizes identification of learning needs, individualization of educational programs, utilization of services available for treatment of problems, and curricular adaptations. Prerequisites: EDUC 125, 225, and 225L, or Department approval. (2 credits)
