Introduction to historic printmaking processes as well as contemporary computer-based techniques. A variety of techniques including etching, lithography, woodcuts, and monotype may be covered. Digital manipulation of imagery in Photoshop for use in photolithography and polymer plate letterpress may also be considered. Although technical processes are introduced, the primary focus is conceptual; emphasis placed on thinking as a graphic artist and printmaker (in reverse, in multiple, etc.) Prerequisite: Art Studio 102,103 or 115.
