A course designed to develop an appreciation for, an understanding of, and a facility in the use of mathematics in the social and life sciences. Particular problems in political science, ecology, psychology, sociology, economics, anthropology, epidemiology, and business management provide the motivation for the development of tools and techniques employed throughout applied mathematics.
