This course represents a significant engagement with the work of the most important Reformed Protestant theologian since Schleiermacher. It offers a critical examination of one of the most significant, constructive dogmatic and moral theologians of the twentieth century. A close reading of a primary text is undertaken with a view toward understanding Barth's dogmatic work as a theology of reconciliation and freedom. Prerequisite: BITH 315 or 374. (2 credits)
