A study of the second gospel focusing on Mark's portrait of Jesus as the catalyst of the Kingdom and as suffering servant. Attention will be given to the relationship between literary forms and religious function in the writing of the gospel. Prerequisites: BITH 213 or 214, or ARCH 213 (or passing the New Testament Competency Examination) and BITH 325. (2 credits)
