A visual survey of the methods by which societies around the world have solved the problems of insufficient (or non-existant) land and water necessary to sustain human life, this course will focus on those culturally-appropriate, labor-intensive, and non-capitalized technologies that ancient implications of these technologies for social change, missions, and development for the third world will be discussed.
