This course builds on a foundation laid in SOC 257 Gender Roles by examining the historical and social structures that have defined what it means to be men and women. Also considered are gender-related social movements, gender arrangements cross-culturally, and the impact political, economic, and religious systems have on gender relationships. (2) Prerequisite: SOC 257 or consent of the instructor. Diversity course.
