Topics include nomenclature, structure, sterochemistry, chemical reaction mechanisms, nucleophilic substitution and elimination, structure, synthesis, and reactions of alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, and alkyl halides. Also IR, mass spectrometry, and NMR. Four hours lecture and a 3-hour lab per week. Prerequisite(s): CHE 125 or CHE 151.
