3 credits This course explores historical and contemporary visual approaches to mythology, metaphor, and symbol. Sources may include the Bible, Greek and Roman myths, symbolism, and psychoanalysis. Twentieth-century artists such as Picasso, Klee, Warhol, and Beuys provide a framework for painting projects that stress the personal integration of idea, image, and paint.
