3 credits This course is an introduction to the language of comics and the sequencing of pictures to tell stories and convey information. Specific genres explored and practiced will be the comic strip, the editorial cartoon, and the comic book and graphic novel. In addition, students will examine some of the history of comics as well as various uses of comics and sequential art in the worlds of illustration and fine arts.
