3 credits Illustration I provides an introduction to the art of illustration and the skills required for its successful practice. Through a series of problems and exercises, students increase their understanding of visual language while developing their ability to use that language through drawing in the communication of ideas and information. Along with some exploration of a variety of processes and media, most of the problems are solved in finished black-and-white sketch form.
