The first of a two-semester survey encompasses both the history and theory of architecture and landscape architecture. Readings from primary documents will supply the social and intellectual context for designed form. Lectures and visual documentation will focus on the historical embodiment of these ideas within the panorama of changing styles, techniques, and attitudes.
