Introduction to building materials through studio exercises exploring the physical properties and characteristics of wood, metal, masonry and concrete, with emphasis on their use and assembly. Initial abstract exercises sequentially introduce the basic architecture vocabulary, materials and principles, through analysis of historic precedents and materials research.
