The purpose of this course is to provide students with the basic concepts, applications and understandings of the principles of lifetime fitness. This course will provide students with knowledge about their own fitness status and the fitness needs of children, adults, and the older population. Students will understand the importance of fitness assessment and exercise prescription and its relationship to the primary risk factors which impact upon the human organism's ability to achieve and maintain fitness.
