This course is designed to assist students in developing competencies in the practical application of theoretical constructs for the delivery of therapeutic recreation services in clinical settings. Fundamental principles of client assessment, task and activity analysis, program development and evaluation will be presented. In addition, an overview of the effects of various developmental, cognitive, emotional, physiological, and other disabling conditions on leisure behavior patterns will be emphasized with concomitant strategies and techniques for treatment and rehabilitation.
