The study of pediatric diagnoses with a focus on prevention, etiology, medical/educational intervention, and the effect of the disorder on occupational performance and occupational roles across the life span. Studies OT theories such as neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT), sensory integration (SI), biomechanical, behavioral, and rehabilitation approaches. Students practice documentation, and engage in intervention planning. Special attention is given to understanding the role of the occupational therapist in the school system, community-based pediatric settings, and home-based care. Supervised administration of selected assessments and clinical observations are part of this course. Lecture/Community Site Visits. Prerequisites: MDAN-170, OCCP-321, and OCCP-301.
