This course will introduce to students the history and culture of Africa, with particular emphasis on East Africa and Uganda. Students will come to learn the outline of Africa's diverse history and traditions but will experience first-hand various aspects of culture through readings and trips. Enrollment is limited to students admitted to the Uganda Studies Program. (This course is similar to GLS 387 Exploring World Cultures: Africa. However, due to the more focused nature of the USP course, students who have already completed GLS 387 at CCU may repeat the course for credit under the USP prefix with advisor approval.)
