This course is an introduction to the design, implementation, use, and abuse of public opinion surveys for social and political research, news and policy analysis, and political campaigns. In the course of the semester, we will develop a survey instrument, conduct interviews with CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviewing) software, and do some basic analysis of the results. (U-G) (3 credits) (one of the following) PO 101, PO 201, junior standing or consent of instructor.
