Course Level: Graduate This course examines three leading qualitative approaches to the production of knowledge about world politics: comparative case studies, participant observation, and the analysis of social networks. It considers theoretical and application issues, as well as reading and discussing exemplary work in each of these different approaches. The course provides students with a 'toolkit' for the analysis of questions and issues not amenable to quantification.
