Course Level: Undergraduate Topics vary by section, may be repeated for credit with different topic. This course gives students an opportunity to learn about current topics in marine science, with particular emphasis on marine biology. Possible topics include diversity marine species and related conservation issues; water movement in the oceans; changes in seawater chemistry associated with climate change; investigation into the variability of marine primary productivity and sustainable extraction of marine resources. Presentation of course materials includes lectures, discussions, guest lecturers, films, student presentations, debates, etc. Usually offered every fall.
