Course Level: Undergraduate An in-depth introduction and exploration of the study of life from atoms, molecules, and organelles to the cellular levels of organization. Emphasis on cell structure and function, energetics and metabolism, the gene, molecular genetics, and evolution. The laboratory component introduces the scientific method and experimentation through the study of microbes, plants and animals. Usually offered every term. Prerequisite: MATH-170, MATH-211, or MATH-221, which may be taken concurrently. Note: this course is recommended for science majors, pre-medical, or honors students only.
