A survey of the periodic table emphasizing the applications of modern structural principles, kinetics, and thermodynamics to inorganic systems. Descriptive treatment of selected elements and families included. Three lectures each week. The laboratory experiments emphasize the synthesis and characterization of air-sensitive compounds.
