This course provides the student with the basic concepts of patient care, including consideration for the physical, developmental and psychological needs of the patient and family. Routine and emergency patient care procedures are described as well as: infection control, patient assessment, patient education, venipuncture and contrast injection, pharmacology and interacting with the terminally ill. The course includes clinical demonstration of patient care skills. This course is delivered in online format.
