- is designed to introduce special education today and the history of special education as a field of study. Special education has been alternately defined in terms of the process, the place it is delivered, and the methods of delivery (curriculum). The teacher candidates will study the individuals with Disability Education Act (IDEA) of 1997, the process of nondiscriminatory evaluation, and the core guidelines for inclusion and collaboration. Curriculum, methods, and activities for inclusion are discussed. Prerequisite: EDUC 210. (IAI Course # ECE 913, SED 904)
