Fall (4 credits) or Spring (4 credits). Application of a sociological perspective to the study of women. Review of current information about women's positions in U.S. society with special attention to differences in class, race and ethnicity, and political ideology. Theories of power, discrimination, self-concept, and social action as applied to women's experiences. Prerequisite: WMST 150 or SOAN 100 or 102. Offered as needed.
