Fall (4 credits), Spring (4 credits). A combination lecture/discussion/workshop focused on the fundamentals of stage direction. Scenes are presented in class and evaluated on student director's written analysis and execution of the scene's dramatic action, character attitudes, idea/intention, groundplan, environmental factors, dialogue, mood, tempo, and style. Prerequisite: permission. Offered in alternate years. NU and EV only.
