Fall (4 credits), Spring (4 credits), May Term (3 credits). Exploration of differences as well as the intersections between the scientific and religious quests for ultimate truth. Emphasis will vary, including topics such as evolution and creationism, neuroscientific experiments on religious experiences (e.g., love, forgiveness, altruism, healing, meditation), quantum mechanics, energy theories, Deep Ecology, human nature, and nature. Prerequisites: one course in religious studies and one course in science, or permission. NU and EV only. Offered as needed.
