Specific content may vary from offering to offering; in every case, students are expected to complete major research projects reflecting advanced historiographical understanding and skill. Possible topics: California Indians, war and society. Ordinarily to be taken after HIST 450. Prerequisites: prior course work in the major and junior or senior standing. Completion of portfolio required. May be repeated for degree credit given a different topic.
